'80s Television Shows & Entertainment
TV was it. Our down time was spent in-front of the tube. Rainy days, after dinner, sometimes during dinner, and of course, most of us watched it in-bed. By the '80s, almost every Americal household had 2 TV's.
TV Shows became an everyday part of life for millions, who would indulge hours each and every day.
MTV, which launched on Saturday August 1st, 1981 at 12:01AM, quickly became the # 1 watched program by early 1982. Music videos quickly picked up pace as hundreds of artists from around the globe incorporated videography as a normal part of their music productions.

Here is the very first music video aired on MTV. I'm sure most of us who had cable, were glued to the TV. The Buggles stared in Video Killed The Radio Star, which ironically was recorded in 1979. |
Who can forget the movie Mannequin from 1987, which starred Andrew McCarthy and a very lovely Kim Cattrall. | Loading the player...

Below is one of my personal favorite music Videos from 1988. Rick Astley sang "It Would Take A Strong Strong Man", which made it to #10 on the Billboard charts in 1988.
